Dr. Malcolm Takere is a proud tangata whenua (indigenous person) of Aotearoa New Zealand, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2022. After graduating, he worked in a busy private practice in one of Wellington’s outer suburbs, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of dentistry. More recently, he has worked in public health delivering much needed oral health care to his underserved Māori community, whilst studying te reo Māori (the Māori language) alongside his wife.

The value of whānau (family) underpins Malcolm’s approach to life and oral health care, and he firmly believes that good oral health extends from the patient to the wider community. He takes pride in creating a warm and comfortable environment for his patients and their whānau through a friendly and cheeky chairside manner. Malcolm and his wife have moved to Lutruwita (Tasmania) for a change of pace and lifestyle. They are often exploring beautiful coastal and forest environments in search of native birds and trees. A keen supporter of the All Blacks and New Zealand Warriors, he is also excited to learn more about the game of Australian rules football. Malcolm finds sanctuary in many genres of music and he is always open to any suggestions his patients may have for their time in the dental chair.
