Dr Linda Jia
Hi, my name is Linda. I was born in China and later moved to Australia as a teenager. I have always wanted a career in healthcare so after finishing high school in Brisbane I entered the University of Queensland to study Dentistry. After graduating with Honours in 2015, I made the move to Bargara, QLD where I worked as an Associate Dentist for 5 years before moving down to Tassie in late 2020.
As someone who was scared of the dentist as a child, I have a gentle, empathic approach to help my patients overcome their dental phobia. I understand that dental fear is very personal. Therefore, I tailor my approach to each one of my patients to help them achieve their goals. To me the most rewarding aspect in Dentistry is to help an extremely anxious patient feel completely at ease in the chair and give them the smile they have always wanted.
I believe that a holistic approach is important to help my patients improve their oral and general health. This means that apart from managing your oral concerns, I am also interested in your general wellbeing and treating you as a whole person and not just a mouth.
I value the importance of continuing education and routinely attend courses to expand my skills and knowledge so I can provide my patients with the latest innovations and techniques in dental care. I am particularly interested in Oral Surgery, Digital Designs, and Aesthetic Dentistry. I am also undergoing Dental Implant training and looking forward to offering implants to my patients as a treatment option.
My partner Alex and I first visited Tasmania in early 2019 and straight away fell in love with it. We now live in the Huon Valley with our dog ‘Bonnie’, and 3 pet cows ‘Moo’, ‘Charlie’, and ‘Seamus’.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, fishing, and growing vegetables. I am loving my new Tassie lifestyle and looking forward to exploring every corner of this Island.
(Apart from English I also speak Mandarin fluently and understand a little bit Cantonese.)
